Founded to enable the interests and skills of children aged 6-17 to be identified, to provide them give them quality trainings in the fields of personal ability, science and technology, a briefing meeting was held to inform the public regarding Özay Günsel Children’s University which is to commence its educational services in June 2019.
According to the information provided by Özay Günsel Children’s University, the briefing meeting was held at Hall 4 of the İrfan Günsel Congress Centre of Faculty of Health Sciences Near East University. It was stated that during this meeting, information on the purpose behind the foundation of this university, approach to education, activities to be held, application process and student acceptance, and finally information regarding the education passport to be granted. Additionally, the answers to questions which the parents had in mind were answered. It was revealed that the briefing meeting was to continue on Monday, 20th May 2019 at İrfan Günsel Congress Centre at 17.00.

A Total of 150 Different Programs on Contemporary Education Curriculum were prepared…
As a result of examining the world’s most developed countries and applications a contemporary education curriculum is formed, which is to be administered at the Özay Günsel Children’s University by highly qualified staff. This education program will comprise modules on the areas on interest of the children and they will have the opportunity to get to know university and academic education; such that almost 150 programmes, which are colourful, fun and applied will be available enabling children to create their own robot, or carton, computer game or even create their own furniture, write their own book, examine micro-organisms in human DNA, or make their own drug from a plant.

It was revealed that the education provided in Özay Günsel Children’s University were designed to provide basic life skills such as scientific and critical thinking, questioning and problem solving to the children and their development in accordance with their mental abilities and interests. Also, the programs will be administered by professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and doctor academicians of Near East University and University of Kyrenia.
