Özay Günsel Children University Fall Term Program continues with Instructional and Fun Modules

By taking into consideration the intellectual and social requirements and development of the children, the programs offered by Özay Günsel Children University comprise specially tailored modules allowing the children to learn, to enhance their knowledge, to develop their skills and discover their potentials. The Fall Term Program of Özay Günsel Children University continues with instructional and fun modules specially designed to enable the children to learn through observing, practicing, discussing, exploring, discovering and having fun.

Throughout the first four week of the Fall Term, Özay Günsel Children University implemented modules and learning activities prepared by academics and educators of Near East University. These modules and learning activities that implemented during the four week of the fall term program, have been tailored meticulously to raise children's aspiration in science and knowledge, encourage motivation, develop their abilities to conduct research in their fields of interest, and direct their abilities properly.

By taking into account the individual differences and age characteristics of the children, the University classifies the children into 4 groups and offers 4 distinct modules tailored to meet the requirements of each age group. In this regard, training modules titled "World" for children aged 06-08, "Sun" for children aged 09-11, "Galaxy" for children aged 12-14 and "Universe" for 15-17 age group students have been designed.

They have learnt Food Groups…
Within the scope of the modules and learning activities designed for age-groups, the "Sun" group students visited the Animal Hospital of Near East University and acquired information about animals, animal diseases and treatment procedures. Then, students, who made hand prints with colorful paints during their visit to Animal Hospital, visited the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and participated in an event titled "Is Every Delicious Food Useful?” During the event, students were able to find answers to their questions such as importance of food chain, food groups, acidity rate in harmful foods and how they are harmful to our body.

They held a Soccer Match with Robots...
Within the scope of the modules and learning activities designed for age-groups, the "World" group students visited the Robotic Lab of Near East University and acquired information about the robots of NEUIslanders, the robotic soccer team of Near East University. The Robotic Soccer team provided students with information about the features of the robots and demonstrated a robotic soccer match on the pitch. Then, the students participated in the event held at Near East

University Sports Tower under the motto "I Know My Body and Protect it". Within the scope of the event, students practiced physical exercises regarding jujitsu and were informed about dangers that might be encountered outside.

They have learnt the Use of Home Remedies...
Within the scope of the modules and learning activities designed for age-groups, the "Galaxy" and "Universe" group students participated in the event held at NEU Faculty of Pharmacy under the motto "I'm Examining the Home Remedies of My Grandma". Within the scope of the event, they received information about the scientific examination of home remedies. They prepared medicinal tea from herbs such as linden, thyme and elderberry used for colds and flu.

Then, in the afternoon, "Galaxy" and "Universe" group students participated in the event that held at the Faculty of Communication under the title of "Social Media and Responsibilities". Within the scope of the event, topics such as the use of social media and how to protect ourselves from harmful content were covered.

They practiced TRX and Jujitsu Exercises..
Within the scope of the modules and learning activities designed for "Sun", "Galaxy" and "Universe" groups, students practiced TRX and jujitsu exercises. Students had fun with the exercises that aimed at strengthening their muscles, developing their strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously.
