Özay Günsel Children’s University students continue to learn with fun through activities aiming to develop communication skills and responsibility awareness

Özay Günsel Children's University, which aims to enable children and young people to discover their interests and abilities, continues free online education.

6-8 years old World, 9-11 years old Sun, and 12-15 years old Galaxy Group students carried out activities this week that developed their sense of responsibility and communication skills. Students doing an online kitchen workshop learned how to make healthy desserts from fruit. They also did exercises that improved their sign language skills.

They learned healthy dessert recipes with fruits...
Having fun at home with an online culinary event, World group students learned how to make desserts with healthy fruits and chocolate. While waiting for desserts to be available, students had an interactive and entertaining conversation with their teachers about the social responsibility roles to be carried out at home.

Within the scope of the conversation, which aims to support students to be self-confident individuals who know their responsibilities, solve their problems, raise awareness about their rights, respect the rights of others, students were chatted about the importance of sharing work at home and assuming their own responsibilities. During the conversation, topics such as making their beds, helping with the dishes, regular use of their toys, and not leaving dirty clothes around were discussed.

Unknown aspects of cats discussed...
Organizing a program dealing with the unknown aspects of animals, Sun group students also discussed interesting and unknown aspects of cats. They learned interesting information about cats such as; cats' brains are 90 percent similar to humans, the cat that gives birth the most has 420 kittens, cats have their own nose mark, they imitate human behavior and can do whatever they want by making sounds like baby voices, they may be allergic to hair, and the frequency waves of the sounds they make are effective in relieving pain.

Communication skills developed...
An event related to communication skills within the scope of "21st century competencies" was held with Galaxy group students. Students who learned about diction, body language, effective and correct communication, were given communication examples from daily life. In the program, which aims to develop students' skills for verbal and non-verbal communication and to teach quality communication techniques, the students also applied what they learned.

Family definition with Sign Language ...
This week, the definition of family members was emphasized in the program where basic sign language training was given to all age groups. Students who learned to express family members in sign language also reinforced the knowledge they learned before.
