Özay Günsel Children’s University to host engineers of the future in TRNC with engineering camp

Özay Günsel Children's University will host Turkish high school students in the TRNC this summer with the Engineering Camp to be organized with the support of Near East University and Kyrenia University.

Özay Günsel Children's University, the first and only university for children in Cyprus, will host Turkish high school students in the TRNC in July and August with the "Engineering Camp" it will arrange this summer. The Engineering Camp, which will be held for the first time, will be held with the support of Near East University and University of Kyrenia. The Engineering Camp will also be held for high school students from the TRNC.

The first stage of the program of Engineering Camp held for the Turkish high schoool students in cooperation with Özay Günsel Children's University and Jr. Robotics has been clarified. At the Engineering Camp, which will be held on 3-11 July and 7-15 August this summer, the students will complete the education program prepared in accordance with their ages in many subjects from mechatronics to software, from robotics to design modeling while getting to know the Cypriot culture.

They will make their own robots at the end of the camp
The Engineering Camp will allow young people to learn about the professions they want to choose in the future and to experience engineering disciplines. Students will spend an unforgettable camp period with mechanical mechatronics, electrical electronics, software programming, design modeling, robot driving studies, 21st century skills, cultural tours and fun activities.

High school students coming from Turkey will get to know Cyprus and its culture with the Engineering Camp on the one hand, and will participate in an accelerated engineering workshop with the facilities of Near East University and Kyrenia University on the other hand. At the end of the camp, students will also make presentations and demonstrations with robots developed by themselves.

Students who will participate in the Engineering Camp will also receive scholarships from engineering faculties of Near East University and Kyrenia University and recruitment support after graduation.

Özay Günsel Children's University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Anna Günsel emphasizing that the HSEI (High School Engineering Institute) Program, which is also implemented in many universities in the United States, is also an important personal development opportunity offered to young people, said “By offering our children the opportunity to get to know new cultures and meet new interests, we aim to enrich their lives.” Günsel also announced that all students participating in the Engineering Camp will be given scholarships at the engineering faculties of Near East University and Kyrenia University and priority recruitment support after graduation.

Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said that at the Engineering Camp, which will be held for the first time in the TRNC, they aim to develop students' skills and develop interest in areas such as design, programming, mechanics and electronics. Prof. Dr. Meriçli informed that the Engineering Camp will also be organized for the children from the TRNC.
