The summer term education programs of Özay Günsel Children's University which will start on June 12., which is the first and only university in Cyprus for children, will be held face-to-face
Özay Günsel Children's University, which brought together 199 oral presentations presented at the World Children's Conference it hosted in the past weeks in a two-volume proceedings book, published the books that will constitute an important resource for primary, secondary and high school teachers, and presented them to Olgun Amcaoğlu, Minister of National Education and Culture of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu said, “You have carried out a very important and precious study for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. There is a great work and a great effort here." He also congratulated Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli for hosting the World Child Conference.
At the meeting held between Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli and her accompanying delegation and Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu, a consensus was reached for Özay Günsel Children's University to conduct the summer education programs face-to-face.
Summer term training will be held face to face
Reminding that they carried out their training in the first summer of the pandemic last year, with the permission of the Ministry of National Education and Culture, by meticulously applying all the hygiene rules determined by the World Health Organization and local authorities, Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said, "This summer we will carry out our training programs face to face with the permission of the Ministry of National Education and Culture and by meticulously applying all hygiene rules."
After the meeting with the Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu, Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said, "As Özay Günsel Children's University, we will continue to teach with fun in the summer education period that will start on June 21." Özay Günsel Children's University's summer program will be held between 21 June and 20 August. Within the scope of the activities, sports activities (basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, etc.), sailing courses, music activities, scouting activities, dance courses, sea and picnic organizations will be carried out in accordance with the age groups of the students, as well as the activities exclusively designed by the Near East University and University of Kyrenia academicians. STEAM programs covering the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics will also be organized.
Applications for the “We Discover the Writers and Poets of the Future” project have been extended until June 15
Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said, “We continue to make beneficial projects for the beautiful children of beautiful Cyprus. Upon the request of our teachers, we extended the participation period until the evening of June 15, 2021, in the "We Discover the Future Writers and Poets" project, which we started for our children who were away from museums during the pandemic period. In addition to technological devices such as tablets, we will present Özay Günsel Children's University Summer Term participation scholarships to our children who will be ranked in the activities. Stating that stories, articles and poems made by the children will be published in electronic book form, Prof. Dr. Meriçli said, “This book, which will be the first children's e-book in Northern Cyprus, will be a very special memory for our children that they will proudly show and tell in the future.”
