Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Özay Günsel said that they will spend this week with orientation when they started the summer education program. On the first day of the face-to-face program, Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said that the students were divided into groups such as Earth (6-8 Years), Sun (9-11 Ages), Sun (12-13 Ages), Universe (14-16 Ages) according to the age of the students and had fun with their new friends and teachers at the introductory event.

On the second day of the face-to-face programs, the students got to know the trainings and activities to be held in the summer term. At the activities such as sports, music, dance and art organized for each group, children discovered their interests and talents. Students exhibited their basketball and volleyball skills at the Near East University RA Sports Hall as part of sports activities. As part of the "I know art events program", they visited the museums on the Near East University campus, starting with the City Museum of Walled City. As part of the "I know dance activities event", they experienced dances in various categories. During the orientation period, students continue to get to know the activities that will continue throughout the summer.

The students, who will also have the opportunity to swim at the Mimoza Hotel, located on the shores of one of the cleanest beaches of Cyprus, will take their first sea trip this week and start taking water sports and sailing training every Wednesday,.

Recycled materials turn into music
One of the aims of Özay Günsel Children's University Summer Term education program is to organize activities that will improve children's hand skills. For this purpose, the students started to develop their singing, chorus and musical instrument playing skills by making musical instruments out of recycled materials in the activity "I know about music activities".

Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said that they will spend the first week of the summer term, which started face-to-face on June 21, with orientation. Prof. Dr. Meriçli said, “From the second week onwards, we will ensure that children have a wonderful summer period by combining Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (Steam) activities along with sports, music, dance and art activities.” Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli also said, “Our children will learn and improve themselves by having fun throughout the summer. After spending a whole year with the computer due to the online education, they will now have the opportunity to enjoy socializing with their peers, nature and the sea."
