The 8-week 2021 Summer Term Program, organized by Özay Günsel Children's University, including children aged 6-17 has ended. Özay Günsel Children's University 2021 Summer Term Closing Ceremony was held at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center.

Students, who have been away from their schools and friends for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, came together in the summer program, where Özay Günsel Children's University meticulously implemented the pandemic measures, and prepared children for the new education period by carrying out fun and various activities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Performing arts, sports and music activities as part of the summer program, the students enjoyed sailing training at the Mimoza Beach hotel on the coast of Famagusta.

Gold certificate and Özay Günsel Pediatric Doctor title were awarded to students who collected 300 credits.
At the ceremony, Gülsüm Ateş, Baran İlhan Dinçkuyucu and Boran Niyazi Dinçkuyucu, who collected 300 credits and received a gold certificate by fully participating in Özay Günsel Children's University programs, were also entitled to receive the Özay Günsel Pediatric Doctor title.

Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli delivered the opening speech of the ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli: “We prepared our students mentally and physically for the new education period with the summer term education program.”
Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said that the summer term education program was very productive. Filiz Meriçli said, “As part of our summer education program, our students had the opportunity to learn and socialize while having fun, on the other hand, they had the opportunity to discover their talents through art, sports, music, dance and sailing activities.” Stating that the students of the Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education also gained internship teaching experience during the summer term education program, Prof. Dr. Meriçli said, “I would like to thank all our teachers, interns and assistant teachers, and Özay Günsel Children's University team who worked with great devotion throughout the education program.”

Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli said, “With the summer term education program, we have prepared our students mentally and physically for the new education period. During this program, students spent quality and enjoyable time with many activities from science, art, music to dance, and water sports, while also gaining knowledge in many areas. They designed their own houses, their own robots, their own t-shirts, prepared hand creams, learned about Cypriot herbs and grandmothers' home remedies. Our children are our future, it is our duty to protect our future.”
