Organized under the leadership of Özay Günsel Children’s University, the first and only children’s university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the 3rd World Children’s Congress was held face-to-face and online with intense participation. 217 papers were presented by scientists from 29 countries on many topics that put focus on children.

29 countries were represented at the congress, which was held on April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, the only holiday in the world, where the third anniversary of Özay Günsel Children’s University was celebrated. Many scientists from Turkey and TRNC, Philippines, Italy, Romania, Azerbaijan, India, Ukraine, South Africa, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, China, Iran, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Moldova, Indonesia, Pakistan, Australia, Ghana, Georgia, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Vietnam, Cameroon, Sweden, Serbia and Nigeria participated in the Congress.

Face-to-face meetings were held in Antalya
Face-to-face meetings of the 3rd World Children’s Congress, where an important vision study was carried out by discussing many topics from children’s rights to education, migration, child labor, family to sports, nutrition to health problems, were held in Antalya. The congress, which was held under the leadership of Özay Günsel Children’s University, Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Social Research and Development Center, started with the speech of Özay Günsel Children’s University Board of Trustees and Congress Honorary President Anna Günsel.

Özay Günsel Children’s University Board of Trustees and Congress Honorary President Anna Günsel said that they were happy to undertake the organization of the World Children’s Congress, which was held for the third time this year. It is our greatest sadness to be holding the World Children’s Congress in the shadow of wars. Wars, in which reason and logic are disabled, stand before us as the most important problems that darken the future of our children. Establishing a world dominated by peace stands out as our biggest goal and dream for our children.”


Özay Günsel Children’s University presented two papers
Two papers were presented by Özay Günsel Children’s University at the World Children’s Congress, through which participants from 29 countries presented 217 papers that put children at the center. The paper titled “Importance of the Internship Program for Vocational High School Students: The Day is in My Profession Project” was presented by Duygu Kaptanoğlu Coşkun and Şefik Emre Coşkun, emphasizing the importance of vocational high school students benefiting from internship opportunities. Duygu Kaptanoğlu Coşkun, Çağla Akarsel and Fatma Hacıoğulları made a presentation titled “Evaluation of Cyberbullying Behaviors and Staying in High School Students”. Özay Günsel Children’s University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli also attended the congress as an invited speaker.
