The NEXIS Program, launched by the Özay Günsel Children’s University, offers children the opportunity to experience the technologies of the future.
In the world of tomorrow, technology stands out not merely as a tool to be used, but as a powerful arena of creation that enables the emergence of new ideas and solutions. By immersing children in this world, the NEXIS program, which was initiated by the Özay Günsel Children’s University, aims to introduce them to technology, help them develop their own ideas, and turn what they have learned into practice. The name “NEXIS” itself reflects the program’s core philosophy; derived from the concepts of Near East, Xploration, Innovation, and STEAM, it brings together the principles of exploration, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.
Offering hands-on training in fields such as robot design and technical modeling, block-based programming, and drone technologies (using Arduino), NEXIS bridges children’s curiosity about technology with the experience of creation. During these sessions, students not only familiarize themselves with various technological systems but also actively participate in design and project development processes. Thus, technology ceases to be merely a subject to be taught and transforms into a field that students explore through hands-on experience.
They will take their places in the technology teams of the future!
NEXIS training sessions will be held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 16:00 to 17:00. The program aims to foster students’ curiosity about technology, enhance their creative and production skills, and prepare them for the technologies of the future.
With NEXIS, the Özay Günsel Children’s University invites children to “Learn, Design, Create!” by bringing them together around this approach, and contributes to the development of the next generation of creators who will join the technology teams of the future.
Training sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
NEXIS training sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 16:00 and 17:00. The program fosters children’s interest in technology while helping them develop skills in problem-solving, creativity, design, and production. Guided by the “Learn, Design, Produce!” approach, NEXIS invites students to explore the technology world of the future and become part of it through their own ideas.
Anna Günsel: “We want our children to grow up as individuals who not only use technology but also create it.”
Anna Günsel, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Özay Günsel Children’s University, stated that the NEXIS Program offers a hands-on learning environment that connects children’s curiosity with technology, adding: “We attach great importance to our children being introduced to technology at an early age. However, what matters even more is that they grow up to be individuals who do not merely use technology but also question how it works, develop their own ideas, and transform those ideas into products. We launched NEXIS with this very vision in mind.” Noting that the training programs, ranging from robot design and programming to Arduino and drone technologies, offer children the opportunity to experience various fields of creation, Günsel said, “For a child, making a robot they designed move, seeing the result of the code they wrote, or transforming an idea they developed into a working model is a highly valuable learning experience. At NEXIS, we encourage our children to be curious, experiment, make mistakes, and find solutions through repeated attempts. This is because we believe the foundations for the young people who will join the technology teams of the future are being laid today.”
