Özay Günsel Children University Secretary General Duygu Kaptanoğlu Çoşkun and Near East University Nerita Technology Transfer Office Specialist Şefik Emre Coşkun took part in the jury team of the event "2020 FRC Izmir Pre-Season" held first time in Turkey by FIRST Robotics Competition Team FRC 6429-4th Dimension.

The FRC IzmirPre-Season event was held within the scope of the International FIRST Robotics Competition organized by the FIRST® Foundation (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which was established by the inventor Dean Kamen with the aim of bringing students closer to robotics science and spreading robotics. The purpose of the event was announced as providing the opportunity for all FRC teams around the world to develop their socializing and presentation skills.

4 continents, 31 teams from 6 countries, more than 300 high school students and mentors attended the event.
At the 2020FRC IzmirPre-Season event, Şefik Emre Coşkun, as the jury coordinator, and Duygu Kaptanoğlu Coşkun taking place in the "social jury", represented Özay Günsel Children University and Near East University. In the event organized online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 300 high school students and mentors came together with 31 teams from 4 continents and 6 countries.


Competitions are organized according to different age groups...
FIRST, an international youth organization, is hosting the “FIRST Robotics Competition” for students aged 09-18, “FIRST LEGO League”, “FIRST Lego League Jr.”, FIRST LEGO League Jr. Discovery Edition ”and“ FIRST Tech Challenge ”.

Duygu Kaptanoğlu Coşkun and Şefik Emre Coşkun were in various positions in national and international events organized by FIRST such as Jr.FLL (FIRST LEGO LeagueJr.), FLL (FIRST LEGO League), FGC (FIRST Global Challenge) and FRC (FIRST RoboticCompetition) and took place in Turkey Planning Committee.

FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Foundation aims to inspire young people in the fields of science and technology and enable them to work actively in STEM (Science, Technolgy, Engineering, Arts and Maths) fields.
